Happy 2012 to all our fantastic Tree Tender graduates!

To start off this great year LEAF is partnering with the City of Toronto on a wonderful project. We’d like to help them identify a number of ash trees found in Toronto parks that could potentially be treated with a TreeAzin injection this coming spring.

We will be hosting a training workshop for 15 – 30 individuals who would like to help out with this project. The workshop will be held on Saturday, January 28th from 11:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at Ramsden Park 1020 Yonge Street (conveniently located near Rosedale subway station).

The best part about this opportunity is that it not only encourages you to tour the wonderful park spaces in your neighbourhood, but it has to take place in the winter so these trees can be treated in the spring… so that’s right… this is the opportunity for you get to work on your winter Ash identification, with the help of the wonderful and amazing Jozef Ric, Forest Health Care Inspector from the City of Toronto’s Urban Forestry.

If you are interested in this project please send me a brief email with the following information:

  1. That you are indeed able to attend the training workshop on the date and time listed above.
  2. You are willing to spend a few hours between Feb and March walking through parks and looking for suitable ash trees.
  3. Why you would like to participate in this project.

This is going to be sooooooo good and so much fun… I can’t wait to start!!!
